Statement of Faith

Since Worldview Equipping exists to equip your student to think and live Biblically, it is key for you to understand Worldview Equipping’s Statement of Faith.  Please read carefully.

God: God is the one and only true, living, self-existent, uncreated, triune God.  God is Three Persons in One: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  God is all-powerful, all-knowing, always present at all times and in all places.  God is holy and cannot ever do evil. God is personal with us, and in His sovereignty, reigns over all details in the Universe, right down to our world.

Genesis 1, John 1, John 14, Psalm 139, Proverbs 15:1, James 4:17, Psalm 135:6, Psalm 119:68, 1 Samuel 1:2

Universe: The universe was created by God in six literal 24 hour days, out of nothing. It is upheld by His all-sufficient power.  At the Fall of Man, God subjected the universe to the curse of suffering (disease, death, decay).  But, (though there are many views on what will happen to the universe), we trust in God’s wisdom, that He will consummate this universe at the time He alone has appointed.

Genesis 1-2, Romans 8:19-22, 2 Peter 3:10-13

Man: All people who have ever existed, do exist and will exist, are created by God, in His own image.  Being made in the image of God, means that man holds a position higher than all creation, by possessing a mind and a soul. However, man is finite, meaning that he is still lower than God.  He is limited by space, time, energy and resources.  From the first man and woman God created on the sixth day of creation, the entire human race is descended.  This means that all mankind is from one, not several races.  Man is also fallen, a sinner by nature.  When the first man and woman, Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, their sin caused: sin nature for all generations after them, spiritual death (in their hearts), physical death (one day they would die) and eternal death (eternal separation from God).  Because of this Fall, all mankind is born into sin, with a desire to disobey God.  All people are separated from God by their sin, which also causes a separation from their fellow men and all that God designed for them to be.

Genesis 1:26-27, Genesis 3, Romans 3, Romans 5

Morality/Ethics: The basis for morality and ethics (good/evil/right/wrong) is found in God’s Word, the Bible.  The Bible alone is the sole authority for all important life issues.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Evil/Suffering: Evil and suffering are the result of sin coming into the world through man’s disobedience. We do not know exactly why God allowed evil and suffering to come into the world.  However, what we do know, is that man is a sinner, God is holy and God provided a way by His grace, for man to be saved.  God also uses suffering in the lives of those who follow Him, bringing them closer to Himself, as well as glory unto Him.  We also know that God ultimately has used evil and suffering in the world, to glorify Himself.

Genesis 3, Romans 5:8, Romans 5:1-5, James 1:2-4

Man’s Eternal Destiny: At death man’s soul goes to either heaven or hell.  His destination is ultimately decided on whether he has believed in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  Heaven is the eternal place of glory where God dwells with the saints (Christians).  No sin, evil, suffering or death exists in heaven. Hell is the eternal place of God’s wrath on unsaved sinners.  Eternal torment and a death that never dies exists in hell.

Revelation 21:8, Revelation 21:3, John 14:2-3, Matthew 26:26-29

Meaning of History: The purpose of history is found in the Bible, from cover to cover.  From creation, to the cross to consummation, God is sovereignly directing history for His glory and our good.  We do not always know why He does what He does, but because God is good, we can trust Him completely.

Genesis 1, Revelation 22

Family: Marriage is the foundation of the family, where one man and one woman commit in a sacred union before God and witnesses present, for life.  Marriage is a reflection of the Gospel, as the man represents Christ and the woman represents the Church.  The man leads, protects and provides for his wife and children. The woman submits to her husband, nurtures her children and cultivates her home.  Children are the fruit of their marriage, a blessing from God, to be taught and brought up to fear the Lord.

Ephesians 5:22-23, Psalm 127:3

Church: The local church within each community, is to follow God’s Word Alone, to encourage believers to live for Christ, to practice church discipline and to be a light to a dying world.  As regards, the family, they must encourage them through a Titus 2 model to bring up their children and to love their spouses.

Titus 2, Acts 2:44-47, Matthew 18, Matthew 5:13-16

Government: The government, local and federal is to punish the evil and reward the good.  The definition of evil and good is to be derived from the Bible first and foremost.  As regards, the family, the government is to keep families safe by punishing crime.  The role of the people is to pay taxes and keep the government in check.

Romans 13:1, Peter 2:13-17, Mark 12:17

Worldview Equipping Policies

Refund Policy: If you decide to withdraw your student from the class enrolled, full refund is available through May 31st (last day of early registration).  After May 31st, 50% refund (half of tuition cost) is available.  After July 24th (last day of registration), no refund is available.

Payment is to be made by the invoice deadline.  For every week that exceeds this deadline, a $20 late fee will be charged ($20 per week).

Student Responsibility: It is the student’s responsibility to complete the assignments given during the week and participate in class every week.  Parents may read books with students, discuss the topics with them, sit in class with them and guide them to follow assignment guidelines.  However, the student is solely responsible to complete his homework.  The student is also responsible to contact the teacher when help is needed, keep his/her grades up, know the homework for the day and arrive virtually in class on time.

Artificial Intelligence Policy:  Students are not allowed to use any form of online editors or Artificial Intelligence (AI), to write or enhance their assignments (particularly essays) in any way.  Using any editors or forms of AI, to complete an assignment, is considered cheating and dishonest.  An F will have to be administered for any assignments that were completed in this way.  The student will have to complete the assignment again for a fair and accurate grade.  Avoiding editors and AI, ensure that a student may benefit fully from writing and revising their own work. If a student has a question concerning certain editors on their devices, they may ask the teacher.

Class Conduct Expectations:  For online classes, students are expected to be in class 10 minutes prior to the start time with cameras turned on.  Cameras need to be positioned to show the student's shoulders and head. Ideally, mid-torso up is recommended. This ensures better interaction in class. When class begins, they are expected to mute their sound whenever not speaking.  This will provides a smooth virtual class experience! Students also ought to place their phones in another room (unless they need to contact their parents for some reason), abstain from emailing, Internet usage or other forms of online use/communication while in class.  Honesty and focus are integral to learning deep concepts in class. For in person classes, students are expected to arrive 10 min early with their textbook, discussion question answers and note-taking supplies.  They are not allowed to be on phones or any other device, during class, unless they ask permission from the teacher, for a specifically stated purpose.

Regardless of location, students must treat teacher/fellow students with respect and kindness (see Code of Conduct).  No interrupting or purposely talking over each other is allowed.  However, students are expected to join in a lively discussion of the week’s topics.  If in person, when not in class, three people must always be the minimum, never one-on-one.

Homework: Homework must be completed by the deadline, which in most cases, is due by the day of class.  Incomplete, overdue assignments are counted as a failure (receiving an F).  If the overall grade is dropping due to incomplete homework, below a C (70%), expelling will be considered and discussion between parents and teacher is mandatory.

Misbehavior: In the case of Policies/the Code of Conduct being broken, teacher will contact parents of the misbehavior.  Student will be allowed a grace period of a week to repent and restore the conflict/broken rule by Biblical means necessary.  If necessary, additional time for restoration may be considered by the teacher. Meetings between parent/teacher and parent/teacher/student are also part of restoring the student to right heart attitude/conduct. On the 3rd time of misbehavior, expelling will be considered.

Parent Responsibility: It is the parents’ responsibility to check their group chat with the teacher, for short class summaries every week, after class. It is also their responsibility to check their students’ grades/reports online and to check with their students in person at home as to their progress/honesty/diligence.  They are responsible for communicating with the teacher when the student is sick/absent (student still needs to communicate if possible) and for addressing any misbehavior on the part of their students when informed. Parents are welcome but not required to read the books/watch/listen to what their students are analyzing and sit in on the class online.  Parents are highly encouraged to discuss current worldview class topics/assignments with their students apart from class time.

Absent Student Policy: Your student is expected to attend every class throughout the year.  Absence of students must be explained in full by student AND parent via email or text.  If unexplained absences occur more than twice, expelling from the class will be considered. In the case of extenuating circumstances or a severe cold/sickness, the teacher must be contacted via email or text by student AND parent at least a day before the class.  Example: Student falls sick Monday, has class on Wednesday. Must let teacher know Monday, latest Tuesday.

In the case of extenuating circumstances/sickness on day of class, parent must either text or call teacher as soon as possible.  Homework expectations remain the same as circumstances permit.  Student must contact teacher if unable to complete by deadline.  Teacher may consider giving 1-2 days of grace.  If extenuating circumstances require the student to drop behind considerably, teacher will meet with parent and student in a private virtual meeting to discuss options for pacing, deadlines and load.

Worldview Equipping Code of Conduct

Obeying the Bible, God’s Word and bringing Him glory are the highest obligations of Worldview Equipping for teacher, students and parents alike.  Below are the key ways students can obey God’s Word and glorify Him.

Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”

Worldview Equipping asks students to be HUMBLE, HONEST, HONORABLE and HARD-WORKING.

1. I will glorify God with my mouth, using wholesome, edifying and kind words.I will not participate in God-dishonoring speech that includes, but is not limited to: gossip, slander, making fun of others, using God’s name in vain, forms of cursing, etc.

Ephesians 4:29-32, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.  Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.  Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.  Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”

2. I will glorify God in how I treat fellow students, with kindness, humility and grace.I will commit to building them up in my interactions with them. I will not initiate or join in unkind words/actions, romantic conversations (any other forms of romantic actions), distracting other students during class time or any other ways of hurting/tearing down my fellow classmates.

1 Thessalonians 5:11, “Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.”

Romans 12:9-11, “Let love be without hypocrisy.Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit serving the Lord.”

3. I will glorify God in how I treat my teacher, with respect.I will seek to listen, carry out instructions and obey my teacher.I will treat not only my parents but other students’ parents with respect.

1 Peter 5:5, “You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

4. I will glorify God in how I handle disagreement with the teacher and/or students. I will follow Matthew 18, by going in private (contacting via email) to the one who has wronged me or who I have wronged. I will go with a humble heart, seeking to forgive/be forgiven. The purpose of this all is to restore the relationship/situation. I understand that in the case of disagreements between me and other students, my parents and the teacher are allowed to help in the peacemaking process.

Colossians 3:12-13, “So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has complaint against anyone; just as the lord forgave you, so also should you.”

5. I will glorify God with my conduct in class. I will arrive on time (10 min before class begins), greet my teacher and classmates, participate in discussion, volunteer in activities in class, focus on learning (setting aside all distractions, esp. electronics).

Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

6. I will glorify God with the way I dress, as online or in person.  This means I will be careful not to wear clothes that reveal parts of my body that are supposed to be covered. Nor will I promote violence or immorality with the images I wear on my clothes. This includes, but not limited to: low necklines, midriffs, short shorts, short skirts/dresses, graphic t-shirts, etc.  I understand that I must honor God not just with my heart but my body too.

1 Thessalonians 4:3-4, “For this is the will of God your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor.”

7. I will glorify God with my homework, diligently learning.I will do my own homework, to the best of my ability, asking for more information from the teacher about a certain assignment, etc, when confused. I will not dishonor God by cheating or any other dishonest means of work to get better grades.I understand that doing my best for God’s glory and learning all I can about worldview is the objective for “doing well” in this class.

Proverbs 21:5, “The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.”

8. I will glorify God in all aspects of Worldview Equipping Classes, understanding that I will do my best to uphold this Code of Conduct and to repent, seeking forgiveness when I fail to do so.

Proverbs 28:13, “He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.”
